Conservation Architecture for the restoration and redevelopment of a half timbered cottage into a family home.
McCormick were employed as architects for the restoration and redevelopment of this half timbered cottage which sits on the edge of a conservation area in the Cheshire countryside.
An earth bank at the rear of the building was cut back and a retaining wall built to allow the extension to be built.
Traditional materials were used throughout, including oak window frames and doors, reclaimed Cheshire stock bricks and blue Cheshire plain roof tiles.
Old oak beams and posts were specially selected for incorporation into the building and these were left exposed wherever possible.
