Proposed Business Centre
Capenhurst

Design proposals for a Business Centre on the Wirral.

McCormick were employed as architects to design a business centre for EA technology at Capenhurst. Two options were produced for client consideration each evolved through the consideration of many factors including:

• Approach to the site
• Siting and form of the building
• Internal arrangement
• Construction technology

Alternative B (see illustration) was the preferred solution, and was designed as an elegant and refined pavilion constructed of brick with stone detailing under a slate roof, situated next to a lake.

The detail design of the building combines design, construction methods and service technology to achieve high levels of thermal performance, comfort control and flexibility of use.

The building is designed to locate each room in the optimum position for its function, while also allowing for flexibility in the use of the centre.
